The Beeches
The Beeches, Sutton Veny, Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 7BY
Available to rent with either 65 or 85 boxes.
The Beeches is a proven and well-equipped training yard with innovative facilities and a testing gallop with a rise of nearly 70 metres in the final four furlongs. Location: In South West Wiltshire and a short distance to Warminster, the Beeches is well positioned for the race courses at Taunton, Wincanton, Salisbury and Bath.
Previously a dairy farm, the property has well ventilated buildings and good grass paddocks. There are three units of accommodation; a two bedroom bungalow, 1 bedroom flat and 5 bedroom hostel with 2 bathrooms. There are extensive offices, with the well placed trainer's office and racing tack room being close to the yard. There are further offices above some of the boxes which may present the opportunity for conversion to residential units (subject to planning).
The boxes themselves are well laid out in former stock barns, each facing a central passageway leading down to the Lower Yard and toward the gallops, arena, walkers and lunge ring.
The oval arena innovative Bolero horse walker and water walker are below the main brick buildings, which house a total of 65 boxes. The arena is ideal for schooling or to warm up before using the gallops.
Below the horse walkers and arenas is a Bolero 6 bay horse walker with lunge ring inside and a pair of wash boxes next to it.
At the very bottom of the yard is an excellent brick and timber barn of 20 boxes with tack room, feed room and store.
The Lower barn is less than 400 metres from the gallop. The gallop is 8 furlongs and of carpet-fibre with the first 4 furlongs having an even camber, the final four furlongs have a rise of around 70 metres in height, being suitable for getting National Hunt and older horses fit.
From the A303 at Wylye take the A36 for around 7 miles to Heytesbury. From there take the Norton road signed Sutton Veny for around 1½ miles, a short while after leaving the village. The turn to the Beeches is on the left.
